Anoka Technical College Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program graduates are prepared to respond to emergency patient care and may work in diverse environments such as ambulance services, emergency rooms, urgent care facilities, treatment centers, corrections, rescue teams, airports, sports/entertainment centers; or as firefighters, law enforcement, paramedics, 911 dispatchers and more.
Anoka Tech's EMS program follows the National DOT curriculum and are approved by the State of Minnesota.

Students can choose to complete this program part-time. Part-time students will take longer to complete their program than students who follow the full-time sequence listed on the official program guide. Because every course may not be offered each semester, it is important for part-time students to reach out to their faculty advisors for help in planning their long-term, part-time course sequence.

Current Students
The Anoka Technical College EMS curriculum is designed to help prepare students to sit for the professional licensure exam for Minnesota. At this time, Anoka Technical College is unable to make a determination if the EMS program meets the licensing requirement for any state or US protectorate besides Minnesota. You will want to contact the licensing board in which state you intend to pursue licensure for their requirements, below we provide a link to a list of each states licensing board.

Minnesota Law requires that any person who provides services that involve direct contact with patients and/or residents at a health care facility licensed by the Minnesota Department of Health have a background study conducted by the state.
Students must earn a cumulative 2.0 GPA or higher to be eligible for graduation from this program.
