College Foundation Hosts Workforce2020 Forum, April 17

Workforce2020Anoka Technical College Foundation is hosting its third annual expert panel discussion, Workforce 2020 Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the Minneapolis Marriott Northwest in Brooklyn Park, MN. 

The event, developed to address business and training needs, includes dinner and an expert panel with industry leaders from Cretex, the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, and GREATER MSP, the Minneapolis Saint Paul Regional Economic Development Partnership to share their wide-range of expertise.

Topics include research, trends, and advancements that may impact our economy and your business in the coming years.

The event offers an opportunity for questions and answers as well as networking among industry and community leaders.

The expert panelists for the Workforce 2020 discussion include:

  • Michael I. Dougherty, Vice Chancellor for Advancement, Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU)
  • Scott Hamman, Director, Recruitment and Diversity of Allina Health
  • Michael Langley, CEO of GREATER MSP, Minneapolis St. Paul Regional Economic Development Partnership
  • Jody O’Neil, Sr., Human Resources Director, Cretex Companies
  • Rachel Vilsack, Regional Analysis & Outreach Manager, Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED)

“We are very fortunate and excited to bring together a panel of experts invested in understanding employment and educational trends,” says Anoka Technical College Foundation chairperson, Bruce Sayler. “Each presenter brings a unique perspective and, most importantly, insights as to how Anoka Technical College and area businesses can work together to help prepare the skilled workers necessary for the future.”

Tickets and Sponsorships The Workforce 2020 expert panel discussion relies on the sponsorship of area business.

To date, the following businesses have stepped forward as sponsors: Bank of Elk River, Connexus Energy, Mary T, Inc., Mate Precision Tooling, Tolerance Masters and Wilson Tool International.

Sponsorship levels range from $1,000 to $10,000. Individual tickets are $75. Proceeds go to support Anoka Technical College students and college programs.

Last year, the Anoka Technical College Foundation’s forum on the Health Care Innovations raised more than $21,875 and provided 22 scholarships to Anoka Tech students.
