Anoka Technical College instructor named 2015 Outstanding Educator by Minnesota State Colleges and Universities

Anoka Technical College Faculty member Jennifer Bingle will be honored as an Outstanding Educator for 2015 in April by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) Board of Trustees. The award acknowledges and rewards exceptional individual professional accomplishment and encourages ongoing excellence.

Nominated by Anoka-Ramsey President Kent Hanson, Bingle will be among 35 MnSCU faculty members honored April 22 at an award ceremony to highlight excellence in teaching. Each Outstanding Educator will receive a hand-crafted silver medallion and framed certificate.

“Jennifer is emblematic of our outstanding faculty,” President Kent Hanson. “Using an objective, thorough and competitive selection process, the college nominating committee conscientiously selected her as highly accomplished and valued faculty members.”

To be recognized as Outstanding Educator, an instructor submits a portfolio that demonstrate consistently exemplary teaching, and evidence of additional contributions to student learning and other teaching-related achievements, such as advising, mentoring, pedagogical development, and service to students, their college or university and to the system.

Jennifer Bingle has been a Speech and Communication Faculty member at Anoka Technical College since 2003.  She offers a hands-on level of involvement in a variety of student support programs. She serves not only as a mindful educator, but she creates opportunity for students to receive the support they need towards meeting their ultimate academic goals. She has served as the Communication Department Chair, Student Senate Advisor and currently serves as Program Chair for First Link, a volunteer faculty-based retention support team. Her teaching philosophy is centered on recognizing and utilizing the value of diversity in the college environment, and passing along these values.
