What is WIC? Who does WIC serve? What are the benefits of WIC and how does one apply?
2:30 to 2:45 pm Session with a Tax Professional – David Jelle, Enrolled Agent
This session will inform students about the American Opportunity Tax Credit, Lifetime Learning Credit and the MN Student Loan Tax Credit.
2:45 to 3 pm Food Pantry – Jayme Hanson
Anoka Technical College in partnership with Hope for the Community presents the Feed Your Need Food Pantry. Information on how it all started, who we serve, and where and when you can access this wonderful resource will be available.

Due to COVID-19 Anoka Technical College's Tutoring Services have moved online and are available to help students remotely.

Join ATC’s librarian for a 30 minute, virtual, APA 7th Edition Workshop. Topics will include: formatting essays according to APA 7th Edition style guidelines, grabbing citations from databases and the library catalog, formatting in-text citations, formatting Reference Page citations, and tips on quoting, summarizing, and avoiding plagiarism.

Autumn DeCosta from the 10th Judicial District Self-Help Center (SHC) will be presenting an overview of the SHC’s services. Topics for discussion will include: The scope of the SHC’s services: how we can help and how we cannot help; Case types the SHC can assist with and cannot assist with; How the SHC helps during the pandemic: remote services options; and How to find referrals to legal resources.
11:30 am to 12 pm Study and Test Taking Tips – Kevin Lindstrom
During this session, Kevin Lindstrom, ATC Counselor, will present his “Top 10 Test Taking Tips.” Topics covered will include how to study for tests, what to do during tests, and how to physically and mentally prepare for tests. Participants will get practical ideas to improve their test performance.

Curious about yoga or an experienced practitioner? Either way, please join us for 45 minutes of stress reduction through movement, breath and a short meditation. Having a yoga mat would be ideal, but you can practice without one. Just wear comfortable clothes so you can move comfortably.

Do you have trouble doing schoolwork in your home? Attending this group will offer ideas for improving your home workspace and will address different techniques and strategies to help you focus when learning at home. We hope to see you there!

Are you drowning in stress? We invite you to join us for an interactive session on the effects of stress and to develop a personalized action plan for your academic and life success.
12 to 12:30 pm Be Kind to Your Mind: Unwind: Why Does Sleep Matter? – OTA Students
Do you short your sleep so that you can get more things done? Although these choices seem productive in the stress of the moment, scientific research continues to discover how lack of sleep and poor sleep quality impair our functioning and introduce health risks. That’s why we hope you will join us for an interactive workshop that’s all about S-L-E-E-P.
12:30 to 1 pm Where’s My Charging Cord? – OTA Students
Join us as we explore the benefits of taking time out of our day to recharge. This session will provide you with ways to find time to take care of yourself so you can manage the business of being a college student.
