Coronavirus COVID-19

Anoka Tech is committed to decision-making that prioritizes community safety and offering an extraordinary academic experience for our students.
Health Screening Tool
We require all visitors to campus, including students, staff, faculty, contractors and vendors, complete and submit a COVID-19 Self-Assessment. Assessments must be completed every day an individual plans to be on campus.
Student COVID-19 Testing
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) is concerned that people ages 18 - 35 are driving the state’s community spread of COVID-19 to record highs, many of them with no symptoms and no way of knowing they are positive. MDH urges all college and university students to get tested prior to holiday events or other opportunities to gather.
To make this possible, Governor Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan announced a significant expansion in COVID-19 testing access. All testing will be free and available to anyone who wants to be tested whether they have symptoms or not, and it will not require insurance.

COVID-19 and Anoka Tech
Student Services and Resources
Diseases can make anyone sick regardless of their race or ethnicity. People of Asian descent, including Chinese Americans, are not more likely to get COVID-19 than any other American. Help stop fear by letting people know that being of Asian descent does not increase the chance of getting or spreading COVID-19. Source CDC

We are committed to taking steps necessary to protect the health and safety of our faculty, our staff and students. There are things our community can do (or continue doing) to help stop the spread.

- Wear a mask
- Remain physically distant (6 feet) from others
- Stay home when you are sick or been in close contact with someone who tests positive
- Seek testing and/or advice from your medical provider
Testing
In November 2020, the State of Minnesota announced a significant expansion in COVID-19 testing access, with the addition of more than a dozen new testing locations opening across the state. All testing will be free and available to anyone who wants to be tested whether they have symptoms or not and it will not require insurance.
Options for testing can be found via MDH's website, including nasal swab community testing events, saliva community testing sites, home tests, and a map of testing locations throughout the state.
If you test positive for COVID-19 please contact the Office of Public Safety at COVID19.Health@anokatech.edu.
