The Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Anoka Technical College and the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at St. Catherine University have partnered to develop a refresher course for occupational therapy assistants. The course consists of six online learning modules and one face-to-face weekend meeting. In Minnesota you may renew licensure that has lapsed more than four years by completing the 7 Module OTA Refresher Course which has been approved by the Minnesota Department of Health. In addition to the refresher course, you must also meet other continuing education requirements as noted in the state regulations. Those regulations can be found a the Minnesota Office of the Revisor of Statues Web site.
If you are practicing in a state other than Minnesota you will need to check with your state regulatory board for specific requirements. Individuals can also choose to take one or more of the modules for continuing education.
