Reading, Writing and Math Program Requirements
ATC requires all students seeking diploma or A.A.S. awards to meet the following program requirements: Accuplacer scores exempting students from taking developmental English, Math, and Reading courses, OR completion of those courses with a Grade of C or better. Some certificate programs require the same. For program-specific requirements, refer to your program plan.

Reading Comprehension score of 78 or better required for exemption from READ 0900 Reading Skills

Sentence Skills score of 86 or better required for exemption from ENGL 0101 Basic English

Arithmetic score of *71 or better required for exemption from MATH 0801 Basic Math
Scores Needed to Begin College-Level Courses
Effective for students beginning their program Fall 2008 or after, the following scores are required for placement into:

College-Level Writing Courses (flowchart) 19 KB PDF
Reading Comprehension score of 78 or higher AND Sentence Skills score of 86 or higher -
College-Level Math Courses (flowchart) 20 KB PDF
Elementary Algebra score of 76 or higher AND
College Level Math score of 50 or higher
The best score possible on each test is 120.
