Electronics I and II

The Anoka Technical Electronic Engineering Technology (EET) program offers two Electronics certificates:

  • Electronics I
  • Electronics II
Both certificates:
  • Focus on the fundamental electronic engineering skills
  • Provide the skills necessary for graduates to work in an entry-level positions
  • Have credit transfer-ability to the other EET program paths

The Electronics I certificate is a 25-credit program.  The program prepares students for entry level work in the electronic engineering industry.

General Education/MnTC Requirements
5
Five (5) general education credits of Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) are required. Student is required to take:
 *MATH1400  Algebra and Trigonometry (Not a MnTC course)

*MATH1700 Pre-Calculus, approved MNTC Goal Area Four , may be substituted for MATH 1400.

*Additional MATH coureses may be needed to prepare for Pre-Calculus.

Graduation Requirements

All Anoka Technical College students must demonstrate basic competency in Math, English, and Reading. Competency may be demonstrated through achieving minimum cut scores in new student assessments (Accuplacer); through other assessment exemptions; or through successful completion of Basic Math, Basic English, and Reading courses, earning a “C” or higher before receiving a diploma or an associate in applied science degree.

Transfer Opportunities

The Anoka Technical College Electronic Certificate I program has credit transferability to the A+ Personal Computer Support Technician diploma; Computer Servicing/Networking Technician associate in applied science (AAS); Electronic Controls Technician diploma; Electronic Controls Technician emphasis associate in applied science (AAS); Special Electronics Technician diploma; Electronic Technician diploma; Computer Servicing/Networking Technician diploma, and Special Electronics Technician diploma.

For students who want to continue their education and obtain their four-year degree, the Electronic Engineering Technology (EET) program, has articulation agreements with Minnesota State University (Mankato), Minnesota State University (Moorhead), Bemidji State University, and University of Minnesota Crookston. Students can complete most of these four-year degrees through online courses.

To see how this program transfers to other programs, review the Anoka Tech articulation agreements at Minnesota Transfer. Articulation agreements are transfer agreements with specific programs and partnering schools. These agreements detail how specific courses transfer to a specific program at the partnering school. This program may also include Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) courses. MnTC courses transfer to meet MnTC general education courses throughout the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) system. MnTC courses from Anoka Technical College transfer to any MnSCU institution to meet the same goal areas that are met at Anoka Tech.

As part of the Electronic Engineering Technology (EET) program, the Electronic Certificate I provides students with the technical knowledge and practical experience necessary for an exciting career in electronics, automation and controls, computer servicing/ networking, medical equipment servicing or engineering support.

Wage/Outlook/Advancement

The Anoka Technical College 20-credit Special Electronic Technical emphasis is a great addition to any of the EET programs.

The Special Electronic Technical emphasis is an individualized degree program that requires pre-approval from the electronic engineering department chairperson. See your program advisor for more information.

Wage information is available from the Minnesota Department of Education and the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.

The Anoka Technical Electronic Engineering Technology (EET) program offers a 14-credit Electronics Certificate II that builds on the 25-credit Electronics Certificate I. Graduates of both Electronic I and Electronic II programs have the skills necessary for an entry-level position.
