Adopt-A-Garden big hit at State Fair
Fair-goers enjoyed the 75-foot Adopt-A-Garden installed by Anoka Technical College the West End Market at the Minnesota State Fair
With the help of students, Horticulture
instructors Amy Moberg and Travis Gienger installed a table and bird bath,
provided by Waterstone; a patio, walls and edging, donated by Borgert, Inc.;
mulch, donated by Best Outdoor Landscapes; plant material, provided by Green
Valley Greenhouse; and mailbox and pain for the wooden box for brochures, donated
by Out of the Blue.
“It was such a collaborative effort,” said
Moberg who will continue to tend the garden through the growing season. “We
could not have done it without fantastic volunteers who problem solved and provided
great feedback to lessen our steep learning curve, and the students who helped
install the landscape.”
