Vacation and Personal Leave
Full-time employees receive between 13 and 29 days of vacation leave each year. The number of leave hours earned depends on the length of service and the employee's bargaining unit.
Part-time employees receive vacation leave based on the number of hours they work.
Requests for vacation and personal leave must be made in writing to the employee's supervisor. Vacation time must be approved by the employee's supervisor.
Sick and Bereavement Leave
Most full-time employees receive approximately 13 days of sick leave per year depending on their bargaining unit contract. Part-time employees receive sick leave based on the number of hours they work. Sick leave may be used for bereavement leave based on the collective bargaining agreements.
Supervisor's are responsible for monitoring their employee's sick leave use. Sick leave is to be used according to the guidelines in the collective bargaining agreements. Abuse of sick leave may result in disciplinary actions. For more information review the collective bargaining agreements

Paid holidays are determined by the collective bargaining agreements and could change each year.
