Hometown: I am California born, spending my early years a stone’s throw from Walt Disney Land. But the majority of my years have been in Minneapolis, which gets the head nod for being my hometown.
Educational Background: I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor of arts degree in French, with study abroad in Montpellier, France. I earned my master of arts degree in Education from Saint Catherine University. I am also trained in StrengthsQuest Educator, mentoring and advising programs.
Best Adventure: Despite all my travels throughout the U.S. and abroad, my most meaningful adventure was learning how to listen, speak, read and write after a traumatic brain injury. Learning language all over again as an adult, overcoming the obstacles, brought an appreciation for the potentials within everyone.
Favorite aspect of Anoka Technical College: I like how Anoka Tech provides support services to succeed as a student and faculty dedicated to the hands-on education needed to be successful in a career.
Advice I would give to students who are applying to Anoka Technical College: Get to know more about your learning styles, strengths, natural talents, values, and interests. Self-awareness of what makes you great, helps you choose the best academic program, and know the steps for you to succeed. You can do it!

Hometown: I am from Tyler, Minnesota, which is in the far southwest corner of the state. I am the youngest of eight kids and we all grew upon on a farm. My high school graduating class consisted of 56 kids at Russell-Tyler-Ruthton HS.
Educational Background: I graduated from St. Cloud State University with a bachelor of science degree in English and from Minnesota State Mankato with a master of science degree in Educational Leadership. I am currently pursuing a graduate certificate in Communication Education at Minnesota State Mankato.
Best Adventure: I am not a very daring person, so my best adventure might be considered weak by most. My husband and I got married in Estes Park, Colorado. One of our wedding week activities with friends and family was whitewater rafting. I was scared out of my mind, but it was AWESOME!
Favorite aspect of Anoka Technical College: I love that we prepare our students to make a direct impact on this community. Our graduates improve their lives and their families’ lives. The skills Anoka Tech students gain make them ideal job candidates.
Advice I would give to students who are applying to Anoka Technical College: #1 Don’t miss class. #2 Get to know as many people on campus as possible. Connecting with others will make your college experience more fun, and you might wind up landing a job based on who you know!

Hometown: I am an Anoka County native, having grown up and graduated from high school in Coon Rapids. I currently reside in Andover with my husband and children. Therefore, I know the best kept secrets of Anoka County– ATC being one of them!
Educational Background: I graduated from University of Minnesota Duluth with a bachelor of applied science degree in Psychology. I am currently pursuing a master of arts degree in Counseling Psychology at Bethel University.
Best Adventure: My most memorable adventure was a family trip to Disney World for my grandfather’s birthday. Riding in the first seat of one of the fastest roller coasters with my grandpa on his 70th birthday was a moment I will never forget! This trip was a great reminder in balancing work and fun. Successful students must devote time to recreation in addition to studying.

: Orono, Minnesota. A small town on the edge of the Twin Cities, great for families and making good friends! Right next to Lake Minnetonka where boating is always a blast! Living in Orono, Minnesota, we had the privilege of being close-knit with some famous athletes/celebrities like Jimmy Jam, Kevin Garnett and Jimmy Kleinsasser.
Hobbies: I love crafts and party planning. With that said, my daughter is one lucky little lady. When it's her birthday, I go all out and make it all myself from the invites, party favors, outfit, and cake, too.
Best Adventure: Being a mom and watching my daughter grow. I find it so fascinating how children learn and change as the years go by.
Favorite aspect of Anoka Technical College: Our college community works together to help students achieve their lifelong educational goals. Our students meet new people and gain close friendships for life.
Advice I would give to students who are applying to Anoka Technical College: You are never too old to start or go back to school! Put your mind to it, strive and accomplish. Dreams do come true. You just have to work at it!
