Computer Policy

The mission of the Anoka Technical College Library Media Center is to support the educational mission of the college, and to support students, faculty and staff in reaching that mission. Since computer access is intended for academic applications, support, and educational enrichment, students utilizing the Library Media Center computers for other purposes will be asked to relinquish their computer workstation. If inappropriate use continues, the student will lose his Library Media Center computer privileges.

Inappropriate computer use includes, but is not limited to:

• Sending or displaying offensive messages or pictures
• Damaging computers, computer systems or computer networks
• Installing software on LMC computers
• Violating copyright laws
• Overuse of limited resources
• Displaying material that is defamatory, abusive, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, racially offensive or illegal.

Failure to follow this policy will result in possible termination of access to the Library Media Center computers.
