Anoka Technical College participates in a variety of federal and state student financial aid programs. These programs fall into the following categories.
A grant is a type of financial aid that does not need to be repaid. Award amounts are based on enrollment levels for each semester. Completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required for all grants.
Loans are a type of financial aid that requires repayment. All applicants for loans, except parents applying for PLUS loans, are required to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Loan eligibility cannot be determined until the information from the FAFSA is returned to our office by the federal processor and has been reviewed. Students must be registered for and attending six or more credits each semester to be eligible for federal and state loan programs. More detailed information along with a Lender List and Application is available at our Loans page.
Work study is a form of financial aid paid to a student as wages from working at an on-campus job. A minimum of six credits each semester is required for the work study program. Please follow the directions included with your Financial Aid Award Letter to apply for current work study employment opportunities.
A scholarship is a type of financial aid that does not need to be repaid. Students may apply for scholarships to help cover their cost of education. These scholarships are provided to studetns by the college or by outside contributors based on criteria determined by the donor.
Scholarships from the Anoka Technical College Foundation are available to continuing Anoka Technical College students who will be enrolled during the upcoming semester. Scholarships will be awarded by the Scholarship Committee and will be based on a combination of your Anoka Technical College GPA, personal essays, a teacher recommendation and financial need. Applications are available at the Financial Aid Office beginning in the middle of the semester.
