Electric Code Classes
NEC Update and Review
This 40 hour course is designed to help prepare electricians for the Electrical Licensing and Inspection license exams. Exams will be on the 2005 code. It covers locating answers to code questions, as well as how to apply the tables and data which specify wire size, conduit size, overload protection, grounding, etc. Students need to bring Hi-liter pens, notebook, calculator and current (2005) code book to class or you may purchase one the first night of class. (This class also carries approval for 16 hours of continuous education)
NEC Update Continuing Education
This 16 hour course meets the requirements for 16 hours of Board-approved continuing education for renewal of all electrician licenses by the Electrical Licensing and Inspection Unit. The course emphasizes topics of field interest – wire size and load, boxes, lighting and motor requirements, and hazardous locations – according to the State Board’s interpretation of the 2005 code. Bring current code book, Hi-liter pens, notebook, and calculator; all other course materials are included in the fee. (Electricians needing only 8 hours of continuing education may take the first or last half of this course as course number HBEL1002 by arrangement with Customized Training Services at 763-576-4800.)

Power Limited Classes
Exam Prep Course
This course has been designed to assist individuals in the preparation of studying for the Power Limited license examination. The course consists of 32 hours of instruction and discussion covering applicable articles and sections of the Current National Electrical Code, Minnesota Statutes governing electrical work, and a review of the basic elements of electricity and electrical calculations.
Continuing Education
The course consists of eight hours of instruction covering applicable articles and sections of the Current National Electrical Code, Minnesota Statutes governing electrical work, and a review of the basic elements of electricity and electrical calculations. The course has been approved by the Electrical Licensing and Inspection Unit and will provide participants with 8 hours of continuing education, which is mandated by the Electrical Licensing and Inspection Unit every two years to keep your Power Limited/Low Voltage License current. This course is designed for holders of the Minnesota Power Limited Technician License.
