Dental Office Receptionist          

This course is a must if you are thinking about a career in dentistry. The first thirty hours of this sixty-hour course will cover the basics: dental terminology, basic tooth anatomy and surface nomenclature. Special emphasis is place upon necessary communication skills, appointment scheduling, recall procedures and dental specialties. The last 30 hours will expand and cover front office procedures, bookkeeping, processing of insurance claims, dental estimates, case presentations, financial arrangements and collection procedures.

LPN/RN Refresher    

This course is designed for the nurse that has lapsed licensure. The refresher nurse will complete a series of theory modules in mainly on-line format, proceed to skills lab demonstrations and complete a clinical rotation. The refresher nurse will secure a temporary license from the MN State Board of Nursing, show proof of CPR certification, show proof of negative mantoux and proof of practice insurance prior to being approved for clinicals. A home internet connection is required; high speed connection preferred with Windows Office.

AORN Perioperative Nursing 101    

This course covers the responsiblilty of the registered nurse in the operating room setting. These responsibilities include patient assessment, operating room and procedure preparation, charting and other criteria. The course includes lecture, lab and clinical hours.  (Prerequisite: RN Licensure)

Phlebotomy         

This course provides students with instruction and practice in phlebotomy techniques so they can successfully perform them upon course completion. Topics covered include blood collection by venipuncture, by capillary punctures and the necessary equipment for each procedure. Students will learn basic anatomy as it relates to blood collection, blood composition, clinical relevance or laboratory tests, safety and professional ethics and liability.

Sterile Processing    

This course prepares students to enter the field of sterile processing and the IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management) certification exam. Course focus is on cleaning, decontamination and disinfection, sterilization and distribution of sterile supplies, instruments and equipment used in various health care settings. Course includes lecture, lab, and clinicals.
