Building Maintenance Technician
This 184 hour course will familiarize individuals with the basic information for being in the Building Maintenance Field. This is all of these classes listed combined.

HVAC for Commercial and Residential
This 80 hour course introduces participants to basic types of HVAC systems with emphasis on refrigeration. Areas discussed will include theory, troubleshooting, operations, and maintenance of the systems that are discussed. Also topics such as the electrical components of heating and air conditioning systems and how to troubleshoot these components. Commercial applications will be discussed as well as controls and motors. Students should be familiar with use of a volt-ohm meter.

Low Pressure Boiler Test Preparation
This 40 hour course is designed to provide information and preparation for passing any of the State of Minnesota low pressure boiler operator exams. It will also provide boiler operators training on low pressure boilers and their safe operation. Steam and hot water boiler operation will be discussed in this course.

Basic Electricity
This hands on course will cover safety, wiring methods, troubleshooting, transformers, motors, code requirements and other “hot “ topics. This course is designed for Operating and Maintenance Engineers, anyone involved with electrical maintenance and troubleshooting. Even the novice will gain valuable insight into electrical installation and maintenance.

CFC Certification Exam
This six hour class will address refrigeration industry standards on recovery and recycling of refrigerants. The course content is designed to assist individuals preparing for the EPA CFC Certification Exam. The test will be given at the end of class. A textbook is required for this class and will be mailed to the student prior to the start of class. Best results on the exam are obtained when the student reviews the book before class starts.

Basic Plumbing
This is an introductory course for individuals seeking employment in the maintenance technician field. This course covers basic plumbing procedures and repairs. During this 40 hour course, students learn how to sweat solder, thread pipe, and become familiar with various fittings and their proper uses.

Gas Piping and Venting
This course is designed to assist in preparation for the Minneapolis Comptency Card Testing. What will be covered: Codes, fundamentals of combustion, venting and chimneys, and gas pipe sizing.
