Advanced Health Care Worker
This course combines Nursing Assistant/ Home Health Aide Training with Directing and Supporting Activities for Older Adults. Students will learn basic nursing and personal care skills to support activities of daily living for long term care facilities and home health agencies. In addition, continuing education, physical activity, nutrition, and safety for older adults are explored. The course has lecture, skills lab, and clinical components. Upon successful completion, the student will be able to take the NA/HHA Competency Evaluation to become a Certified NA/HHA. It is possible to customize this training and add Housekeeping, Nutrition and Medical Administration for Unlicensed Personnel to the course.
IMPORTANT: Students must pass a Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide Pre-test to register. A background check and Mantoux test are required for clinicals.
