Medication Administration (TMA)
This course is the state approved program for Medication Administration for Unlicensed Personnel (TMA). The course covers legal requirements concerning medication administration, general information and administration skills of oral, rectal, and topical routes. The major body systems and how they are involved in the pharmacology of drug use will be studied. The course is a lecture format-students do not administer medications. You can become a certified Trained Medication Assistant (TMA) with successful completion of this course.
Prerequisites: Nursing Assistant and long term care experience or Nursing Assistant and instructor approval.
