Minnesota State, the system of 30 state colleges and seven state universities, recently released the results of a study that estimates the contribution of Anoka Technical College and Anoka-Ramsey Community College to the regional economy to be $371.7M and 3,198 jobs.

Anoka Technical College welcomed legislators and business partners to campus in early October to discuss technical trades and workforce concerns in the state of Minnesota. The Machine Trades faculty hosted a tour, as college employees, legislators, local businesses and K-12 partners met at the college to discuss the successes and initiatives shaping the future of a skilled Minnesota workforce.

Anoka Technical College Financial Aid office is offering a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) event on Thursday, Oct. 11 from 2 to 4:30 pm to provide financial aid information and one-on-one support for the application process. The event is part of Minnesota College Goal, a statewide initiative to help increase student FAFSA completion and preparedness for college.

New five-axis mill brings excitement and opportunities for Machine Trades students
Anoka Technical College unveiled an industry-leading piece of machinery within the Machine Trades Department in late August: a new five-axis mill from Matsuura Industries. The mill was delivered earlier in the summer to fanfare from college community. The mill will provide students with more accurate, current technical skills on a new standard, meeting industry demands and adding value to graduates entering the workforce.

Anoka Technical College and Anoka-Hennepin Schools will host Nitro X, a week-long, transportation-focused camp for children entering grades 7 and 8. The summer camp will be held June 11 through June 15, 9 am to 3 pm, at the college campus.

College students receive Workforce Development scholarship
Anoka Technical College is pleased to announce 16 recipients of the Workforce Development Scholarship (WDS). Fourteen students were awarded $2,500 WDS scholarships, funded by the State of Minnesota, and an additional two students received $1,000 WDS scholarships sponsored by the Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association (MPMA).
