Description: This course covers an introduction to basic accounting procedures with an emphasis on recording transactions (bookkeeping) using a general ledger software. Concepts covered include analyzing business transactions, recording transactions in the general journal, handling cash and banking procedures, depreciation of long-lived assets, preparing payroll, preparing a simple Income Statement, Statement of Owner's Equity, and Balance Sheet, and completing the accounting cycle. This course teaches bookkeeping procedures based on a sole proprietorship in a service business. (Prerequisites: Math Accuplacer Score)
