ADSC - ICD-9-CM Coding - 00003678

Description: This course introduces the student ICD-9-CM diagnostic and procedural coding. Numerical and diagnostic and procedural coding provides retrieval of health care data for medical research, statistics, and the evaluation of medical care. Coded data is used as a basis for financial reimbursement. Students meet on campus for three hours a week and testing is done outside of class during open hours of Medical Learning Lab. This course is web-enhanced via Desire2Learn. (Prerequisites: HLTH1000, HLTH1005, HLTH1040, READ0900)
