ADSC - Legal & Ethical Aspects in Health Care - 00003262

Description: This course will focus on the application of ethical and legal principles and standards pertaining to health information management. Topics of study will include the application of ethical principles, legal issues pertaining to the confidentiality aspect of health information management, regulatory agencies and laws, privacy standards and rules (HIPPA)in relationship to health information use and disclosure and legal aspects of the health record including documentation/retention requirements from various organizations. This course is Web-Enhanced via Desire2Learn. Students will be participating in online course discussions/projects. (Prerequisites: ADSC 1221)
