Description: This course covers word analysis, spelling, pronunciation, and usage of word roots, prefixes, suffixes, and abbreviations common to the medical profession. Emphasis will be placed on diagnostic terms and special procedures. Included in this course study will be pharmaceutical terms and laboratory procedures. Medical terminology will be applied to the human body system. This course is web-enhanced via Desire2Learn. Student is required to be on campus for an online orientation session and until tests scheduled within the course. Unit Tests are completed during open hours of Medical Learning Lab. (Prerequisites: HLTH1040)
