Getting Your Money Higher One TECH iT Card
The Anoka Technical College Tech iT card is issued to all Anoka Technical College students, through a partnership between the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, Anoka Tech, and Higher One, a financial services company serving colleges and universities across the country.
This is not a credit card. This service will give you faster access to your financial aid funds and/or student payroll, depending on your refund selection.
Tech iT Card for New Students
Students that are registering at Anoka Technical College for the first time will receive the Tech iT card in the mail. You will be receiving your financial aid, refunds and/or student payroll on the Tech iT. It's fast, secure and convenient: no waiting in line.
Card is Mailed to Students’ Homes
Your Tech iT card will be mailed by Higher One to your home address. To avoid any delays, DO NOT THROW AWAY YOUR CARD.
Selecting Your Payroll/Refund/Disbursement Preference
You must activate your Tech iT card as soon as you receive your card in the mail. Visit www.anokatechitcard.com to activate it and select your refund preference.
With the Tech iT card, you have three options to receive your financial aid disbursement and/or student payroll:
Automatically Deposit into Existing Bank Account
You may request to electronically deposit your financial aid disbursement or your student payroll to your existing bank account. Visit www.anokatechitcard.com when you receive the card to activate your account and select to have your financial aid or student payroll disbursement transferred. If you choose this option, your refund will be deposited in your bank account after Anoka Tech sends the funds to Higher One. There is no charge for receiving your refund this way. You will have to complete, print and mail an Automated Clearinghouse Transfer (ACH) form.
Disburse Directly to Higher One Tech iT Card Account
The Higher One account is a checking account/debit card that you open with Higher One and link to your Tech iT card. If you select the Higher One account, you will be able to use your Tech iT card to make purchases anywhere that MasterCard is accepted and to get cash out of Higher One ATM machines. Visit www.anokatechitcard.com when you receive the card to activate your account and select the Higher One account.
If you choose this option, your disbursement is available the following business day after Anoka Tech sends the funds to Higher One. Financial aid disbursements are usually available the third week of each semester for students that have an active award and are in good academic standing. There may be fees associated with the Higher One account, including PIN based transaction fees. To avoid a debit fee, use the "swipe and sign" method when making purchases: swipe your card, select the "credit" option and sign your receipt. Please review the Higher One Fee Schedules to learn more about potential fees associated with the One Account and its services.
Issue a Paper Check by U.S. Mail
You may request to have your financial aid refund disbursement issued in a paper check. Visit www.anokatechitcard.com when you receive the card to activate your account and select to have your refund disbursement issued as a paper check. Checks are mailed to your address on file at Anoka Technical College after Anoka Tech sends the funds to Higher One. It is important that you update any changes to your address to avoid delays in receiving your check. There is no charge for receiving your disbursement or student payroll this way, although it will take longer for the check to arrive at your address.
