Returning Student Admission
If you have been away from Anoka Technical College for a semester or more, please complete this Change of Major eform.
Your request will be processed and you will be notified if you meet admission requirements for that program.
Program admission is not guaranteed as some programs may be filled to capacity.
Transfer Student Admission
Transfer students are students who have taken courses at other colleges or universities and are planning on receiving credit for those courses at Anoka Technical College.

Fall Semester Priority Deadline: April 15

Spring Semester Final Deadline: Dec. 1
All PSEO application materials must be submitted by the application deadline to be considered for admission.

Visiting Student Admission
Students admitted and in good academic standing at another Minnesota State college or university, may register for courses at Anoka Tech as a visiting student.
Visiting Minnesota State students must follow all Anoka Tech policies, procedures and deadlines and may register for courses during the Anoka Tech Open Registration period.
Steps to Register for Classes
- Log in to the E-Services account at the primary college or university (where student isadmitted).
- Select Courses and Registration, then select Find a Course.
- Select the Advanced tab.
By default, the student's primary college or university's name appears next to College/University.
- Click the Search Other Institutions link.
- Select Anoka Technical College and click Set College/University. Search and register for classes at Anoka Tech.
Visiting Minnesota State students who register for classes at Anoka Tech will owe tuition at Anoka Tech. Students can view and pay the bill through their eServices
account. Anoka Tech does not mail invoices, and the student is responsible for making payment arrangements by the appropriate deadline.
Please be aware of Anoka Tech policies and deadlines pertaining to adding, dropping and withdrawing from classes.
In addition to their eServices account, students are responsible for activating and using all Anoka Tech online student accounts.
Just Take a Class or a Few Classes
Individuals who want to take less than 9 credits worth of classes but are not planning to complete a certificate, diploma, or degree are classified as Non-Degree Seeking Students. Non-Degree Seeking Students are not eligible for financial aid and will only be able to register for courses during the Open Registration period. To become a Non-Degree Seeking Student, complete the following steps:
1. Apply to the college: When you reach Part 6 of the application, select one of these options "complete courses and transfer without a degree" or "complete courses but not a degree."
2. Submit an Immunization Form.
For non-credit courses, visit Workforce or Professional Training.
Veteran Student Admission
To qualify for veteran education benefits, you must apply to and be accepted into a program major at Anoka Technical College
- Apply for admission to the College
- Take the Accuplacer test
- Apply for Veterans Education Benefits through the VA website
Once the VA has approved your application, they will issue a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) or Statement of Benefits to you. Submit a copy of your COE and DD214 to the Anoka Technical College School Certifying Official (SCO) via email at email@example.com or in person to the Records Office, Rm 104. If you are in the Selective Reserve or National Guard, a Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE) is required in lieu of a DD214.
- Apply for Financial Aid
- Attend orientation and register for classes

International Student Admission
Anoka Technical College is not accepting international students at this time. An international student is a non-U.S. citizen or non-U.S. immigrant, who has been granted F-1 visa status from the U.S. Department of State (DOS) through a U.S. Consulate based upon the I-20 document (certificate of eligibility for an F-1 visa) issued by a college to pursue full-time study. Please consider Anoka-Ramsey Community College or another Minnesota State College or University. Select here for more information.
