What is guiding Anoka Tech’s response to this COVID-19 outbreak?
Anoka Tech is working closely with Minnesota State
and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH)
to evaluate and convey information, guidance and response related to COVID-19. Operational decisions will comply with all local, state and federal policies and orders related to the mitigation of COVID-19.
Who makes decisions about Anoka Tech’s response to COVID-19?
Anoka Tech’s Pandemic Planning Team is meeting regularly to provide a coordinated and comprehensive response in order to help make plans for the college’s response and ensure continuation of education and services. This team is comprised of leaders across both Anoka-Ramsey and Anoka Tech including the executive team, Academic and Student Affairs, Public Safety, Communications, Facilities, Human Resources, Information Technology and Environmental Safety.
Don Lewis, vice president of Finance and Administration has been appointed by President Kent Hanson as the Pandemic Administrator in charge.
What will happen if there is a suspected confirmed case of COVID-19 at Anoka Tech?
Anoka Tech will work closely with state and local health authorities to identify and implement the steps needed to protect the community at the time the case is identified.
Are visits, tours, information sessions and events being affected at this time?
Yes. Following guidance from the CDC, Anoka Tech will be cancelling all events where more than 10 attendees are expected. As this situation evolves, this approach will be reviewed and adjusted. Information sessions will be offered in online formats.
At this time, the campus building is closed to the public. It will be open to students and employees, as necessary, during campus building hours.

Will Anoka Tech close campus or cancel classes?
Anoka Tech's campus is closed to the public.
As Anoka Tech works to ensure those students, faculty and staff who need to return physically to campus are able to do so safely, we ask all members of our community to familiarize themselves with our new procedures which include, self-monitoring, screening, cleaning and sanitizing, masking and social distancing practices.

Will spring 2020 graduation ceremonies take place?
Spring graduation ceremonies will not be held in-person on our campuses. Although we are unable to celebrate graduation with you on May 14, 2020, we are honoring and celebrating you and your accomplishments.

Students eligible for graduation in Spring 2020 should continue to apply for graduation by completing a graduation application and submitting it electronically to the Records Office. All students who fulfill the program requirements will still earn their diploma, degree or certificate.
