Tuition Policy Information for Spring Semester

Financial Aid Recipients - Book Charging Service

Meeting the cost of a college education may be a challenge to a student and the student's family. Financial Aid may be available to assist in meeting that challenge. All applicants for financial assistance must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Applications are available through the college admission's or financial aid offices or through your local high school counselor's office. The U.S. Department of Education determines a student's financial need from information provided on the FAFSA.

*Apply for early to meet State Grant eligibility.  Due to a change in policy for the Minnesota State Grant program, students who delay apply for or completing their financial aid application may jeopardize their eligibility for the State Grant.  The new law states that any student who has not applied for aid before the 14th day of the term will not be eligible for the State Grant for that term.

Note: Students must submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
within 14 days of the beginning of the semester in order to qualify for a state grant

Financial Aid Withdrawal Policy

Federal regulations require repayment of aid based on a direct proration of days not in attendance.

If a student withdraws from school prior to the 60% point in the semester, the
student may be required to return a portion the funds received from loans and grants.

Students who withdraw during the first 60% of a semester will have to pay tuition in accordance with school policy while a portion of the aid will be rescinded for non-attendance. The date the student inquires about withdrawing will be considered the official withdrawal date.  If a student stops attending but never officially withdraws or inquires about dropping, the mid-date of the term will be the official withdrawal date.  The best advice would be to officially withdraw after the 60% point of the term.

Satisfactory Progress Policy

All students must maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA (Grade Point Average) and completion rate of 75%.  For more information see the Student Handbook
